Same Equipment as the Professional

We customize training for your specific athletic needs and track your progress.

In sports, almost 80% of perceptual input is visual. But even 20/20 vision does not mean athletes are performing at their peak. Objects don’t just sit there. They move. Fast. Regular eye exams may reveal that you can see clearly, but they can’t tell how well you ascertain where a ball is in space, how fast it’s traveling, or if it’s changing direction.

We provided sports vision assessment and training to target areas including:

  • Eye movement speed

  • Processing speed

  • Dynamic visual acuity

  • Smooth visual pursuit

  • Simple reaction time

  • Choice reaction time

  • Binocular vision skills

  • Visual concentration

  • Contrast sensitivity

In life and sports especially, the eyes see what is happening, but the brain is the computer that processes the information and directs the body on what to do as well as the eyes on what to focus on next.  How do these visual processing skills relate to athletic skills?  They relate in virtually every task that we set out to do and master.  Refined processing skills separate the elite athletes from the rest.

Athletic Skills Improved with Improved Visual Processing:

  • Reacting and making decisions faster

  • Making a decision to "pass", "shoot", or "run"

  • Being better aware of where your teammates and opponents are on the field or court

  • Keeping a moving target clear

  • Better Eye-hand and Eye-foot coordination

  • Estimating the distance of an object or player

  • Following a moving ball or target more accurately

Assessments

Sports Vision Assessment Package - Includes all 3 Assessments

Sports Vision Assessment
  • Complete eye exam including refraction & prescription for glasses
  • Health assessment of eye anatomy and physiology
  • Health assessment of the visual system and how well the brain is coordinating the eye movements
  • Personal assessment of athletic concerns and goals
  • Ocular and visual exam for baseline recordings and revealing of any visual weaknesses relating but not limited to the athletic concern and goals
RightEye Assessment
Monitoring Eye Tracking movements, the RightEye system records every movement of each of your eyes and compares the movement to norms.  When combined with the Sports Vision Assessment and/or Comprehensive Eye Exam, RightEye is an amazing tool for diagnosing conditions and tracking results.

Senaptec Assessment
The Sensory Station is a state-of-art sensory evaluation and training station which assesses 10 visual and sensorimotor skills. In less than 25 minutes, we can determine a player's strengths and opportunities for improvement by immediately comparing their results to their peers. Once assessed, targeted training can begin. Senaptec's wide database of specific drills allows us to focus on what really matters. And with the myriad of in-app customizations, the possibilities for growth become endless.

Compare Ocular Health Data to Norms
  • With a Complete Eye Exam, our developmental optometrist is able to confirm that the health of your eye is in it's best condition and treat health concerns.
  • Identifying and correcting any refractive errors with glasses and contact lenses is performed to maximize the athlete's vision with a goal of better than 20/20 when needed for certain sports.
Compare Visual Processing Data to Norms
  • Going beyond just examining the health of the eye, Dr. Baker will then examine various visual processing skills
  • Examining various binocular vision (how the brain works and coordinates each eye together), Dr. Baker can identify primary weaknesses that the athlete may not even be aware of and work on treating those as well.
Compare Visual Processing Data to Other Athletes
  • Through the Senaptec and RightEye testing systems, we can compare your results and skill levels to athletes of your age and/or skill level around the world.
  • Through the comparison of several visual processing skills, we can better identify what you should be focusing on to get the most out of your training.
Identify Visual Processing Weaknesses
  • Our equipment is constantly being updated with norms for athletes in various sports as each sport has its own visual demands.
  • Our assessments will provide detailed graphs of your strengths and weaknesses so we can focus on the areas that need improvement and track your progression to fine-tune your training to what
